Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers (3/14/26)

 

This season, Mr. Simmons debuts with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in a concert performance of L’enfant et les sortilèges as Le fauteuil and L’arbre, Lyric Opera of Kansas City as the Bonze in Madama Butterfly, and Dayton Opera to reprise the role of Zuniga in Carmen. Mr. Simmons will also feature in the world premiere of Damien Geter’s The Delta King Blues with IN Series.

In the 2023/24 season, Mr. Simmons made his European debut with Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he appeared in Carmen (Zuniga), Anna Bolena (Lord Rochefort), Tosca (Sciarrone), Gianni Schicchi (Betto di Signa), Nabucco (High Priest of Babylon), Die Zauberflöte (2nd Armored Man), and Lohengrin (3rd Noble).

Recent highlights include Mr. Simmons debut as the title role in Le nozze di Figaro with Wolf Trap Opera, Colline in La bohème with both Opera Baltimore and Opera Carolina, a role debut as Escamillo in Carmen with Opera Memphis, and Zuniga in Carmen with both the Florentine Opera and Maryland Opera. In concert, Mr. Simmons appeared with National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Gianandrea Noseda, as Lodovico in Verdi’s Otello. Further concert credits include Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat, Fauré’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, and Schubert’s Mass in G Major.
