The Guild for Washington Concert Opera invites you to join fellow opera lovers for a five-day, four-night trip to Chicago, offering the opportunity to experience two operas with Lyric Opera of Chicago, one performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and time to explore one of America’s great cultural cities.

Arrivals in St. Louis are anticipated for the evening of Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Accommodations will be at
Palmer House Hotel, a Hilton property, located at 17 East Monroe Street in Chicago, Illinois. The trip will include hotel accommodations, group transportation within Chicago, select meals, and various excursions. Travelers should plan for additional expenses, including transportation to/from Chicago, transfers from the airport to the hotel, and optional excursions.

Afternoon on your own to explore Chicago and welcome dinner (included). Dinner location TBD.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2026

Daytime excursion to be determined (more info forthcoming), followed by an evening performance of Omar with Chicago Lyric Opera. Omar is sung in English with projected English titles. Click here for performance overview.

Departure on your own or remain for more excursions in Chicago.

To reserve your place, a $300 nonrefundable deposit is required. Additional details, including a final itinerary and associated costs, will be shared this fall with those who have reserved a spot. This deposit is a tax-deductible donation to Washington Concert Opera and secures your space on the trip. Space is limited.
